We recently installed a propane garage heater in a converted horse stable that I will use as a workshop.  I asked Dave if he would let me purchase my own equipment if I could get it for less than he could.  He was fine with that and I was able to find a vendor for the heater I wanted at a price that was a few hundred less than Dave could get it for.  I bought it out-of-state along with the stainless piping necessary for the flue.  He did the propane tank piping and heater unit installation all in one day.  I paid half up front and the balance after my final inspection.  His price was very reasonable and the heater works great.  The piping they did was neat and very direct to the outside keeping piping costs down and efficiency up.

I actually did ask two other companies for estimates.  Both balked when I said I’d like to supply the heater unit myself if I could get it cheaper than they could.  No doubt they were going to mark up the cost of the unit.  We will use Active Air Conditioning for our A/C and home furnace maintenance in the future.  The company is honest, they do good work and won’t gouge your wallet.  I like them better than the bigger outfits in the area. – Paul N.

Dave from Active came out to our house today right on time.  He was friendly and most importantly honest.

We originally got an advertisement postcard from another company previously. So we called them to do a maintenance checkup the week before.  They said that my AC unit needed 5 lbs. of R-22 freon, a new single pole contactor, and a new duel run capacitor.  He said it would all cost about $995 in all.  $500 for the electronics installed and $495 for the Freon installed.  I bought and replaced the capacitor and contactor myself for $79.  Dave from Active checked out my need for Freon and found that there was nothing wrong.  He said the unit’s Freon pressure was 58 psi, where it should be.  The service call plus tax was just over $100 and well worth it.  I’m very happy to know that there are still some honest HVAC companies out there.  We will use Active AC & Heating from now on.  Dave, thank you!!
